This was the first year I sent Christmas cards. I researched locations for days, learned to stilt walk JUST to be able to model this dress, and hired a professional makeup artist to help me with glam. I stayed up all night finishing the dress but was deeply unhappy with how it turned out, so I remade a version of it a week later, and it led to a partnership with Greyson Carlyle. He would go on to photograph my underwater balloon dresses and our 2018 Christmas card!

In 2018, I went for another balloon dress. I was inspired by Molly Balloons' Christmas tree balloon dress but wanted mine to be very distinct, so I tried for an organic style. Nate joined in on the shoot, and we have this Christmas card to show for it! I also sent versions that were just of me.

Nate and I collaborated on a Christmas card idea together and came up with the alpaca concept.

We had a lot of free time during 2020, and Nate used some of it for a huge art project, where he created a phoenix rising from a dumpster fire in the empty office space our event planner friends at Red Velvet Events owned. Our friend Keira took the photos and our friend Michelle provide the makeup/body paint for the concept. We decided it was a fitting Christmas card for such a crazy year.

We were finally coming to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and events were back (sorta)! Trying to balance business ramp up along with balloon supply chain issues and the need to pivot if event hosts or our employees got sick was exhausting. Instead of trying to create a crazy balloon sculpture, I opted to just take a photo of us as we were, which was pretty drained from the stress of the last two years.

2022 was the year we the Home Depot 12' skeletons went viral, and Nate managed to snag one! He was such a fun part of our lives that we decided to include him in our Christmas card. This photo was taken shortly after a huge gig where I built a balloon dress for the Trail of Lights. This version actually had a bodice that we re-done, since the original one had already shrunk when we took the photos.

We continued to work our butts off for balloons in 2023, and I started traveling all the time for my new dance obsession. By December 2, we'd pretty much run out of time to organize any staged photos, but as we were setting up decor for a client's party, we realized we had an epic backdrop already. Dylan snapped some iPhone photos, and bam! Our 2023 Christmas card was done!

This year, we had TWO Christmas cards - one for broad audiences, and a second, spicier one for friends would would appreciate that sort of thing. What's published here is the version intended for broad audiences.
